You know that feeling (and slight pain) you get when you buy a new pair of shoes that look awesome but still need some breaking in? The first few times you wear them you keep debating whether it was a good idea but--at least in my case--you keep powering through because they are indeed great looking shoes!
THAT is how the past month of being in Nevada has felt. Monday, I celebrated one month at my new job. And it is starting to feel more comfortable. What is even better is that we are still confident that God has us here, at this place, in this time, for His glory. Yes! It has been hard, and as noted in my last post, the emotions have been high and even confusing at times. We are still tackling feelings of loss -- like losing or misplacing one shoe, or actually having to discard those perfectly weathered shoes (Sorry to keep referencing shoes but it is one of my favorite things!) Yet we are moving forward-- connecting with more people and experiencing the joy of new and beautiful places all while embracing the heartache of our misplaced friends. It is with great hope that we continue. I am reading through John right now in preparation for Easter and am once again amazed by the stories of hope for each character that is introduced...(John the Baptist, Nathanael, Nicodemus, woman at the well, the officials, disciples...and the list continues). We lean into this same hope today. And very much hope our story reflects Christ as clearly as the stories found in John. "In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men"."- John 1:4
